Gobina Boris Nganje Cameroon, 1997
Gobina's art is a representation of the things that happen to children in African society, especially the disadvantaged.
The creative vision of him as an artist is that which sees not only the artist as the narrator, but also the one who rebels against social anomalies.
When he draws, he does not think about art, but about his daily life as an artist of the world, and embraces the problems of others who see him connected to the human community. Through them, he freezes his daily life on a medium, learns from them and builds his personality at the same time.
For the materialization of his ideas of him, he does not ask the offended person how he feels, but himself becomes the offended person. He tries to imagine himself in their shoes so that he can understand how they feel inside, and then bring out that emotion and express it on canvas with his brush. Through it, he evokes a true humanism in these children, reflecting the mood of these young people whose dreams have been stolen, suffocated and brutalized so that people can understand the pain these children go through every day to survive. .
In a realistic trend, using surrealist and symbolist processes, he immerses the viewer in a kind of empathy and lets him project his own story into the work. His work is a blend of pop art and surrealism, to give life and hope to his subjects through multicolored gestures and traces made with acrylic and oil colors.
Invite society to lend a hand to those kids who feel like they have no place in this world, due to some social and educational anomalies, so that they can become better leaders of tomorrow and also, for humanity to show love to these children who have been abused, rejected and deprived of their fundamental rights.
He uses acrylic paints and oil paints. Acrylic is for the background while oil paints are used on the subjects, paying close attention to their body language and facial expression.
